Overview

Department of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care & Pain Medicine had its beginning in 2005.  Upgradation to a Post Graduate department took place in 2011 with two MD seats and since 2012 department is recognized for six admissions every year.  Postgraduates have bagged top positions in Kerala University of Health Sciences consecutively in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Comprehensive perioperative care, critical care, pain management as well as resuscitation are the major clinical commitments of the Department. An active participant in academic deliberations at national, regional and state levels, Department hosts an annual state-level CME programme GANCON since 2016. Department is also recognized for the Diploma in Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technicians (DOTAT) under Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Kerala with 10 admissions every year from 2010.
