National Pollution Day
The National Pollution Day in India is celebrated every December 2nd in memory of the 3,700 people that perished during the Bhopal poisonous gas leakage tragedy which occurred on the same date in 1984.
With environmental pollution being a major concern globally, this day is organised to create greater focus on the alarming rate of air, water and soil pollution going on, their causes, and their impact on human life. Global warming is another major fallout of environmental pollution and we need to promote eco-friendly practices like reducing dependence on fossil fuels, bursting of crackers, neutralizing industrial affluent, banning the use of polythene, promoting water conservation, etc.
SGMC as an organization is constantly environment-conscious and strives to preserve nature by adopting several green measures. You may learn more about our Green initiatives here : https://sgmc.in/medical-college/pages/green-initiative
