ALUMNI GET-TOGETHER – “ORU VATTOM KOODI”

The Sree Gokulam Medical College Alumni Association (SGMCAA) organized the Grand Alumni Get-Together titled “Oru Vattom Koodi” on 24th May 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Main Auditorium, 3rd Floor, College Building, Sree Gokulam Medical College and Research Foundation (SGMCRF).
The programme was conducted with the objective of reconnecting alumni from 15 MBBS batches of the institution, beginning from the first MBBS batch of 2005 to the 2019 MBBS batch. The event aimed to strengthen the bond between alumni, faculty members, students, and the institution and to promote continued engagement and collaboration through the alumni network.
The event witnessed the participation of approximately 250 attendees, including alumni, their family members, faculty members, staff, and student volunteers. Around 80 alumni from various batches had formally registered and actively participated in the programme.


The inaugural session was graced by eminent dignitaries including Shri. Gokulam Gopalan, Chairman, Gokulam Group of Companies; Dr. K. K. Manojan, Vice Chairman, SGMCRF; Dr. Sheeja G. Manoj; Dr. Vineeth M. B.; Dr. Jithin J.; Dr. Hima Vasavan; Dr. Harimadha Viswanathan; Dr. Althaf K. A.; Dr. Dijo D.; Dr. Lalitha Kailas; Dr. Nandini V. R.; Dr. Simi S. M.; and Mrs. Gouri Nandana.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Vineeth M. B., followed by the lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest delivered the Chairman’s address, followed by keynote and special addresses by dignitaries. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Jithin J.
Emeritus professors, senior faculty members, and long-serving staff were honoured for their contributions. Academic awards in Dermatology and Pulmonology were also presented.
Cultural programmes included group dances, solo and duet songs, solo dance performances, violin recital, and a musical band concert. Tea, snacks, and dinner were provided.
Student volunteers assisted in registration, backstage coordination, and compering.
A chess game timepiece and three chess sets were gifted to the SGMC Chess Team.
The event enabled meaningful reconnection among alumni and strengthened institutional bonds. Photographs and media coverage were shared via Google Drive.
