- The Department of Medical Gastroenterology at Sree Gokulam Medical College, established in May 2006, is now equipped with a team of five dedicated consultants. The department offers comprehensive services, including full-time functioning endoscopy services, inpatient care, and outpatient services. This setup ensures a holistic approach to digestive disorders, covering diagnostics, treatment, and ongoing patient management addressing a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders.
- In addition to our core services, we have specialized clinics that provide targeted care for specific gastrointestinal issues, ensuring a refined and focused approach to the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as IBD, liver diseases, pancreatic disorders, and colorectal cancers. This multi-faceted approach enhances the department's capability to address a diverse range of gastroenterological concerns with expertise and precision.
- Clinical trials and FDA inspection: Within the first two years, it has developed into a centre for research, and we had 5 large multi centric global trials. This centre was evaluated by the FDA from 12/6/2010 to 12/10/2010 (https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/nda/2011/022000 Orig1s005.pdf) and there were no adverse remarks.
Doctoral programme in Medical Gastroenterology (DrNB)
We have initiated the programme in 2019, and the first student has qualified. Currently we have five students enrolled in the programme.
Doctorate programme (PhD)
Our centre has been recognized, and one student has been awarded doctorate in medicine faculty. One student is due to complete her doctorate and will submit the dissertation soon.
